#mySTL Downtown Guide: St. Patrick’s Day 2018

Rest up now, St. Louis: You have one month to prepare for the all-day celebration that is St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown. From breakfast time on March 17, 2018, until the wee hours of the following morning, Downtown is sure to be filled with spectators and celebrators all donning green. Unsure where to start? We’ve planned it out for you.

Begin your day at Tigin Irish Pub & Restaurant with “pints and pancakes” from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. You’re supposed to carb-load before a big day, right? Well this party comes with a never-ending supply of pancakes, Irish breakfast favorites and a gift card to use after the holiday.

Looking for something healthier than all-you-can-eat? The 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Run kicks off at 9 a.m. and takes its 8,000 participants five miles through Downtown and Midtown St. Louis. Save a few bucks and register early—you can use that money later on green beer.

After the run comes the grand event of the weekend: the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year’s parade featuring more than 5,000 marchers will kickoff at 1 p.m. at 20th Street and Market Street by the Leprechaun Village at Aloe Plaza, an entertainment area for children featuring food, bounce houses and Irish dancing. The live entertainment continues all day, as the parade will conclude at Broadway Street and Clark Avenue near the Irish Village at Ballpark Village, which will house performances, merchandise, food, drink and more.

Looking for more? As the day comes to a close, head inside Ballpark Village to Howl at the Moon for the St. Patrick’s Day Party with drink specials and late-night celebrating. You might need to track down a green coffee to keep going that long, but considering St. Louis is known as one of the best U.S. cities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in we can’t blame you for wanting to go all night.
