Cycle Saloon Puts a Twist on Tourism in St. Louis

There’s a brand new social experience rolling into Downtown St. Louis.

Cycle Saloon party bikes, also called bar-cycles or pedal pubs, are the latest way to explore and enjoy the Gateway City. This 14-passenger adventure is quickly drawing locals and tourists alike who are up for a new twist on tourism.

Each ride starts at Wheelhouse on Spruce Street with a driver and a recommended route, but tours can be customized to hit spots like the Gateway Arch, Ballpark Village, Start Bar, Rosalita’s and more.

Once you round up 13 friends, you’re ready to pedal your party. But don’t worry about those legs getting tired. Your Cycle Saloon driver can always give you an extra push with the pedal-assisted motor.

Cycle Saloon got its start in the streets of Soulard, and now, owner Brian Beirne is excited to bring the action Downtown.

“We chose Downtown as one of our destinations because we want locals and tourists to have a fun and engaging way to explore St. Louis,” said Beirne. “We are creating relationships with local restaurants, bar owners and businesses to offer the guests specials and make the establishments a recommended stop along the tour route.”

Unlike traditional bars, you can be your own DJ on the Cycle Saloon and create the ultimate playlist for your party and play it through the bike’s bluetooth stereo system.

While alcohol isn’t served on the rides, you’re always welcome to BYOB, whether that’s water, soda, beer, wine or booze (just make sure there are no glass bottles).

To book a ride, head over to and choose either the Downtown or Soulard private tour, which both last two hours and range from $21-$29 per person. Tour hours vary depending on the day, but don’t run later than 9 p.m. during the week or 10:30 p.m. on weekends.

Whether you’re planning a birthday celebration, a company outing, a bachelor/bachelorette party, or just need some fresh weekend plans, the Cycle Saloon surely won’t disappoint.
