With more than 1,300 guests in attendance, the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (ULSTL) rang in 100 years of service at its Centennial Gala earlier this year. Held at Downtown’s Marriott Grand Hotel on March 24, the Centennial Gala included star-studded entertainment with actress Viola Davis presenting the keynote speech. Local organizations Centene Corporation, Ameren and World Wide Technology, Inc., presented donations totaling $3.25 million to the organization’s programs, services and Centennial Fund.
Throughout its century of work, ULSTL has been focused on the social equality, economic self-reliance and civil rights of African Americans and has worked to serve clients across two states and three counties. While the Centennial Gala may be over, there are still ample ways to celebrate ULSTL during this landmark year.
